The Natural Park Angke Mangrove At Pantai Indah Kapuk
On April 26th 2015, our group went to East Jakarta. We wanted to visited The Natural Park Angke Kapuk. We choosed this place because it's a trending place in social media, another reason is this Natural Park is not too far from Bekasi. We went to The Natural Park by car. It was took about two hours from Bekasi to PIK.
This Natural Park Angke Mangrove Kapuk is located in East Jakarta. The location of this Natural Park is at the inside of Pantai Indah Kapuk. We went to the inside of the PIK regency. We have to went inside until at the end of the regency.
We went to this Natural Park from JORR hailway - exit at Kamal and go along to Kamal Raya St. - follow the road to Waterbom - go along to Golf Mediteranian and Garden House - PIK roundabout - Tzu Chi Center - and arrive at The Natural Park. This Natural Park is located after Buddha Institution Tzu Chi or Tzu Chi Schools. We just went along followed the road and the signs that directed us to the Natural Park.
When we arrived at the front gate, we had to paid Rp. 10,000 for a car and 25,000/person or visitor. We paid Rp 125,000 for our group. . Near the front gate there is a wooden Mosque, Al-Hikmah. It's located above the lake. Unfortunately, we didn't take a photo of it.
From the front gate, after parked the car, we walked about 100-150 metre to the checkpoint for checked our tickets. The officer aso checked our things that we brought, because in the inside of The Natural Park we can't brought any cameras (SLR,Instax,Digtital cameras, etc). If you want to keep bring your camera inside, you have to pay Rp 1,000,000. We can't bring any food from outside of the area.
The Natural Park has 99,82 HA. This area is dominated with wetlands (mostly lakes) with the major vegetation is Mangroves. Back then, this Natural Park was a fishpond but it has rehalibitated with mangroves for 40%.
After we entered the first thing we did is, of course, take some photos!! This Natural Park was very green and shady. So you don't have to be afraid with the heat.
When we walked there were some little pots with mangrove seed inside it. There were also a big cage for 2 monkeys. Unfortunately, we didnt take a photo.
We were scrolling around the are of the Natural Park while searching for some people that we wanted to interviewed.
When we were walking round, we met with these 3 women. Their names are Tari, Nisa and Rika. Three of them are postgraduates from UNJ. We were asking to them is this their first time or not. "Yes It is our first time to visited this Natural Park" said Nisa. The reason why they wanted to visit this place because they felt curious about this place, some of their friends who already came and visited said to them its a good place for refreshing. So they decided to visit this place to explore more about this Natural Park.
After we were interviewing them and took a photo. We were searching for another people to be interviewed. We got a couple.Their name are Bagas and Nina. They are in vacation so they just wanted to go to this place. "We just want to know about this place more. Because this place has been a trending topic in social media" said Bagas. In this interview, we didn't get any information about where they come from, when we asked about it they didn't answer it.
There are many facilities that they provide for the visitors. This Natural Park providing family package for families who wanted to stay overnight there. There are many small wooden cottages. There are also a field for camping and for camp fire. There are also a big suspension bridge.
This Natural Park is also providing wooden boat, kano, and speedboat for 6 & 8 person if you want to sightseeing the lake. If you want to use Kano, you have t pay Rp 100,000/person for 40-60 minutes, Rp 200,000 for wooden boat and 300,000-400,000 for speedboat. The speed boat can be used for 6-8 persons.
This Natural Park has many garbage cans and benches. The shady trees makes the environment looks very green. Something that we couldn't get in the city. But, eventhough they providing many garbage cans, we saw some plastic trashes. The path to go to the beach is very small and dirty. In the end of the path there is a bridge that still in processing. Some part of the big bridge are dirty and unmaintained.
We think, this Natural Park is located in a very strategic location. If the visitors could be allow to bring cameras, it would be best for invite more people to come and visit this Natural Park.
